Favourite part of planning
My favourite part of planning the day was when it was all done! I booked everything very quickly and got it out of the way, I think it’s easy to get caught up in the planning and spend hours scrolling through websites, Instagram and magazines that you forget why you’re actually getting married in the first place. I enjoyed writing my vows and choosing our songs the most.
Favourite part of the Wedding Day
My favourite part of our day was having my make up done in my room and sneakily looking out of the window and seeing my future husband arrive with our boys. The ground was thick with snow so it was a relief our families all arrived safely but it looked so beautiful and not many people can say they had snow on their wedding day (particularly in March). Also, my eldest son reading the poem he wrote during the ceremony, he done such a great job.
Top Tip For Other Brides
If I could give any advice to future brides I would say try to stay relaxed and not let it stress you out, it’s meant to be fun. There will always be people that moan about something or someone that isn’t happy but it’s your day not theirs so do what suits you and your husband. The people that care for you the most will be happy so long as you’re happy. I remember on the morning of my wedding walking in my onesie across the snowy grounds to eat a big fried breakfast with my bridesmaids and sitting about drinking tea and chatting, relaxed and stress free, taking turns to have our hair and make up done.
Also, take a moment during the day to pause and look around at your guests having fun, I remember doing this during the meal and it is one of my strongest memories from the day as a lot of it goes by in a blur! One more thing, allocate somebody to look after your little ones, my cousin offered to have our son who was only 16months at the time, she got him off for his nap, everyone kept an eye on him and played with him during the day then she took him to her room in the evening so he could go to bed which made my day a lot easier!
