Chris & I got married on the 14th July 2018 at Elms Barn Toft Monks, we viewed the venue back in January 2017 and fell in love with it instantly. I enjoyed 98% of all aspects of planning our wedding as attention to detail and parties are my two favourite things! If I had to pick just one favourite part of planning it would have to be the quality time I got to spend with my mum, sharing ideas and having her input on the plans for our big day meant the world to me. One of these special moments was our trip to Le Jour Bridal, upon recommendation from one of my gorgeous just married bridesmaids, myself my mum and maids set off to Le jour early September last year. I was very nervous about dress shopping and had put it off for 9 months in fear of the expectations not meeting reality ( a curvy size 14 staring at far to many Pinterest posts of supermodels) but I needn’t have worried. Rie is without doubt OUTSTANDING at her job, I felt instantly relaxed, unpressured and comfortable looking around the store. With a total of 12 dresses picked to try I had my eye all along on a blush allure lace dress, this one got tried on first, and this was the one. As easy as that. Le Jour bridal stock so many beautiful dresses in a variety of styles, designers prices and sizes and it really made me feel at ease knowing I could practically jump into anyone of them I fancied. The shop itself is kitted out beautifully and the aircon is quite literally the best thing ever when clambering in and out of great big dresses. All in all from start to finish of collecting the dress I walked away from Le Jour so glad to have gone and always impressed with there amazing professionalism and kindness. The highlight of our wedding day itself will always be my very poorly dad being well enough to walk me down my aisle and give me away to my now husband, the look of happiness and pride on all of our faces in the pictures tells it all. If I had to give three top tips to future brides I would say.
Top Tip For Other Brides
– make a monthly plan of what you can do each month in the run up, and only focus on those things, it seems less daunting and easier to achieve.
– allow an hour before the ceremony when you are all ready to just enjoy and be with your family and bridesmaids ahead of a whirlwind exciting day.
– Everyone says” no one notices the small details “ and they are right, but do what you want and what makes you happy, if you want flowers in the toilets or a room no one is ever going to see go for it gal it’s your day, but do it for you not for others!
